Tony Healy RIP
We remember and honour Tony Healy who sadly passed away on July 10th. As principal he captained the ship of St. Oliver Plunketts for thirty years and was a true educational pioneer, growing the school in so many ways - particularly in the areas of special educational needs and music. He was the first principal nationally to set up the reading classes and to include children with additional needs in mainstream, in the true spirit of inclusion. Children were always at the center of every decision he made and it was his mission to also build the new school in order to provide the best possible environment for the children to flourish. He worked tirelessly in the background overseeing every detail and to the very end, well into his retirement helped to oversee the new building to its full completion. His legacy lives on in all who knew him and were inspired by him.
In the words of St. Paul to Timothy: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Bookweek 2023
Buíochas to all the authors, parents, grandparents, teachers, children and everybody who made our Bookweek so enjoyable and inspiring. Many children are still discovering the magic of reading and the power of a good story. Children need our encouragement to read and so it's very important to read to our children as often as we can. Please be sure to give them the time and space to read in their young lives.

We recognise the rights of our children to equal access to all education in our own school, our community and in society as a whole. We will work towards cultivating a positive self-worth and respect for the importance of each individual and each community. We will promote a cooperative spirit and good, independent work habits."
